Parish Church Gates, about 100 years ago and today

Parish Church gates

A group of young people conveniently posing outside the gates to the Parish Church graveyard in Church Street.
The large "Gothic style" house left of centre is Southbank. This became a public house in later years, but is now (2015) unused.

In the today view the Southbank Hotel has lost its older image. The church railings and gate are still the same ones, having been spared the fate of so many iron railings in the Second World War which were taken out for use as scrap metal.

The reverse side of this postcard had not been used, and is not displayed
