The Cottage Hospital was built at the top of the Holloway in "Higher Runcorn" and opened in 1905. Its official name is the "Victoria Memorial Hospital" but to all locals it is the "Cottage Hospital". It was enlarged over the years to have 32 beds. It is no longer a hospital but still remains as offices used by the NHS.
